#…I actually have no problem with this line?? #(despite the fact that it HURTS like HELL) #I’ve seen several people upset that he forgot about what Ed and Ivy did for him #but that’s not how I read it at all #he gave up on love and weakness just like he and Ed tried to do in Ed’s apartment #back then it was still safe for them to love Kristen and Gertrud #because they were DEAD #there was no way for it to cause problems #(not until Isabella showed up as Kristen 2.0 with a death wish) #Oswald is back in that mindset – acknowledging that he cares about people or that people care about him makes him unsafe #but it’s still okay to love his mother because she’s gone #(and now look who’s showing up Liza/Isabella style to wreck everything) (sure-as-eggs)

Not to mention that Oswald probably feels that his mother is the only person in his life who has never hurt or betrayed him in any way
