Okay, I’ve been analyzing the scene from 4×14 over and over again and I can’t make sense of Ed’s movements.

So, Oswald says his villainous name and then he grabs Oswald by his collar (makes sense, he’s angry). But then he grabs Oswald’s face….with one hand? I don’t understand that. I mean, if he had placed both hands on his face or the one hand around his neck, okay that’s something. But he immediately places a single hand on the side of Oswald’s face and leaves it there. Even after Oswald grabs a hold of his hand, he doesn’t quickly retract his hand or anything like that. He just…leaves it there. I don’t get that. Why?

This isn’t a clueless “I don’t get it” post, this is a “I don’t know what the fuck the writers were trying to convey except some form of deep rooted affection” kind of post. And also a “If y’all were trying to show anger or fury, that FOR SURE wasn’t the way to do it hun” kind of post.

This!! @witchunters I believe I called it passionate grabbing. ASDFJKL

He was saying “please”, but in the end it’s kind of hard to say what Ed was truly begging for here because his body was clearly showing us something different…

Ed didn’t ran off, or shut Oswald up with his hand, possibly covering his mouth or something if he didn’t want to hear the “magic” word, instead he clung harder to Oswald and grabbed him closer towards him all along, then went for his face and for what we know afterwards.

@we-dance-like-marionettes ”passionate grabbing” fits, he has always done that with Oswald, even right after shooting him. He’s drawn to him in every single way (take a look again at Ed during his first official meeting with him please. Ed was the moth and Oswald the light.), and of course especially physically speaking. Even Cory said it when he talked about 3×14, that Oswald was the only one that Ed was really allowing himself to touch, that there was some special intimacy in that:

“The only character I physically touch or feel comfortable touching is Oswald, and something happened in that scene…” – Cory Michael Smith

The “Riddler” wanted it which means Ed wanted it too. That’s the whole point of his storyline, It always has been and has to be. They truly need to clear this thing up now, this season.

In any case, Ed finally got the recognition and approval he and every single part of him has always craved from Oswald since day one.
