like, why are destiel shippers so obsessed with the idea of dean seeing cas’s true form though?

dean has already seen cas’s wings twice (or at least a manifestation of them) and both times his reaction was being freaked out and not in a good way. dean in general does not like angels, projects his feelings about them onto cas and cannot comprehend that they are cas’s family and that he loves and cares about them, and has virtually never supported any of cas’s endeavors with them. even when lucifer was possessing cas, dean couldn’t acknowledge the fact that cas is an angel and that while his vessel is his body and it does belong to him at the same time he is not actually that vessel but a being inhabiting it. even jensen has outright said that cas is “unnatural” and that because cas is an angel, isn’t human that it’s “tricky” for dean to relate to someone like that and that it’s like relating to a “monster.”

like, if dean saw cas’s true form, he wouldn’t be impressed or in awe or in love. if anything, he’d probably be disgusted.
