Watching “Best Friends Forever” and saw a brief second of Creek goodness

(also some stolovan in the back)

Even though it wasn’t canon at the time but it’s still cute

to those of you who are housebound: how do you fill your days? I’m struggling with feeling unproductive and feeling like my life is without meaning

Reading, Netflix, video games, and painting. Painting helps me feel like I’m being productive and the others distract me enough so I don’t feel unproductive. Definitely recommend a hobby of some sort.

I take online classes at a community college, the problem with that is that you have to go to sign up. And depending on the class you may have to go to orientation and go on campus to take finals. Tho many are purely online.

You could also take free MOOC classes online. Read books on subjects you like. Watch informative videos on youtube. Maybe be creative like write fanfiction or create your own. If this is too tiring I also listen to audiobooks. Youtube sometimes has good ones.

This is what I do. Hope you find an activity you enjoy!!

I need a compilation of all the theories the GF fandom came up with before the finale, like “significance of some characters having 4 fingers while others have 5″, “Dipper’s been possessed by Bill since Sock Opera”, “Gideon is a vampire”…so many good ones that amounted to nothing lmao

Hah oh my god where do I start…

I’ll try to do it per episode.

• Stan is not what he seems. Connected to Grandpa Stan theory.

• Soos is a psychic/knows more than he seems.

• Wendy is a mermaid. Because her boots were always muddy.

• McGucket and Stan were friends. That’s why Stan didn’t laugh at him in The Legend of the Gobblewonker. This also inspired the Mystery Trio headcanon.

• Wax Larry King is lurking somewhere. [ACTUALLY CONFIRMED].

• Gideon is a vampire. Because Dipper said “maybe your next boyfriend will be a vampire”.

• Lebam theory. That one animation error that caused many people to believe Mabel has an “evil twin”.

• Robbie is a zombie.

• Dipper clones 3 and 4 are still alive somewhere. [ACTUALLY CONFIRMED].

• The president’s key will be useful someday.

• Stan Twin Theory. [ACTUALLY CONFIRMED].

• Fiddleford McGucket is the Author of the Journals.

• Stan’s twin is the Author of the Journals. [ACTUALLY CONFIRMED].

• McGucket is the baby in the covered wagon.

• Where did Robbie get that CD?

• Grandpa Stan.

• Carla McCorkle is/was Bud’s love interest and possibly Gideon’s mom. She may also be the girl in Cash Wheel.

• The portal will bring in the apocalypse.

• Dipper’s end. [ACTUALLY CONFIRMED (in NMM)].

• Agent Powers and Agent Trigger are investigating the Pines family. [ACTUALLY CONFIRMED].

• Soos will die.

• Blind Ivan was Bill’s former host.

• Lazy Susan was Bill’s former host.

• Mabel really is Lolph’s ancestor.

• The mailman is Soos’ father.

• Robbie and Tambry’s love potion will wear off.

• Stan will die through fire. [ACTUALLY CONFIRMED].

• Pacifica and Dipper will be in a relationship.

• Pacifica will move in with the Pines.

• The Northwests got their fortune by making a deal with Bill. Seriously what is up with that tapestry?

• Stan is “Stanford” while the twin is “Stanley”.

• The number of fingers theory.

• The infamous Cipher Wheel. [ACTUALLY CONFIRMED but fight me Hirsch it’s cooler than “Zodiac” I’m still bitter about i-].

• Gompers is Bill all along.

• Gompers is Tad Strange.

• Tad Strange is a demon.

• Tad Strange is to Mabel as Bill Cipher is to Dipper.

• Bill never left Stan’s head.

• Dipper’s first name is Mason. [ACTUALLY CONFIRMED].

• Stan’s tattoo is gonna be important. [It kinda is?]

• The Mailbox short which tells the apocalypse in 3012.

• Stan’s fez change.

• Mabel will die.

• Dipper will die.

There are probably more I missed but these are my notes during my theorist days.

Also:
– Filbrick Pines was secretly Bill

– Dipper was still somewhat possessed by Bill while Nwhs happened

(I feel like a couple more of these got confirmed.  Like, “the portal will bring in the apocalypse” – well, *technically* that’s true?  Although not immediately.  And “Robbie and Tambry’s love potion will wear off” was confirmed by Journal 3.)

I don’t see anyone writing my favorite one:

– Stanley will lose his eye

People love to talk about whether or not disabled people can work

but if you can work just fine and your disability is destroying your ability to have a life outside of work (because work takes all your energy and more)

Dead silence. Nobody cares.

File this under, oh you can be active for 4 hours? You can work part-time. Um no, I have to get ready for work (30 min) get to work (15 min) get home from work (15 min) feed myself all day (30 min) maintain myself, my home and my life (15 min, yeah right), which leaves 15 min for work and absolutely nothing else.

This is so accurate, back after I’d relapsed I wanted to try and go in for one class at school so I could still stay in contact with the education system. I let slip during a meeting that I managed to drag myself to that I could manage about 4 hours of activity a week, which the teacher sprang on to mean I was being lazy for just trying to get to 1 hour class. Never matter that it was 30 minutes travel, that I would have to get washed and dressed, that I would probably still need to recover for 3 days from it.

Far too often abled people see the things they do easily as “non activities”, they don’t realise that for many disabled people these things have to be carefully planned and measured, and sometimes they simply can’t be done.

reblog bc the non activities thing seems really important words

I get X number of pain-free steps per day right now, which means that, for large conventions (like SDCC), I need to be in a mobility device.  I had someone ask if I used up my steps every day before transferring to the scooter, and look surprised and a little horrified when I said “no, I save them so I can go to the bathroom unassisted.”  Like, they had never considered that walking is involved in peeing.

!

Reblogging for the important point that the term “activity” may mean something very different and much broader for a disabled person with a chronic pain or fatigue related condition compared to its meaning for a non disabled person. If you’re tired enough, simply sitting up in a chair rather than lying in bed is an activity that drains energy otherwise usable for other things. A thing I knew from other people with pain and fatigue related conditions, but worth reinforcing for followers who didnt know or had forgotten.

Having trouble creating a believable but original governing system for your dystopia novel?

Instead of just using one type of traditional government (i.e. monarchy, republic, democracy, ect.), which has been done waaaay too many times, try making up your own from scratch, or try mixing multiple governing systems together.

For example:

In my novel, Under Control I used a monarchy as the foundation of my government. Then I swirled that around with an oligarchy, threw in a pinch of plutocracy and a smidgen of totalitarianism, along with a dollop of fascism.

Sounds confusing? It’s really not. Here’s how the government in Under Control works.

There is one family who mostly rules over what was formerly the United States and Canada (which has been renamed) the ancestors of this family are the ones responsible for changing the world, hence why they’re in control. But there are other families that rule along side them also.

That’s where the monarchy comes in.

Only these select families rule over/have authority, which basically turns the government into an oligarchy. And that’s also where the fascism comes in.

Because the people who are not helping to rule the country have absolutely no say in what happens, and because only the appointed few have authority this twists it into a bit of a totalitarian government.

Little do the people know that the governing family, the face of the nation, doesn’t actually have all the control. There is an organization, the Internal Ministry, which is made up of the (supposedly) most upright citizens that can be found (within certain social classifications). They actually run the show, making the government system into a Plutocracy.

By mixing these ideas together I have created a deep, complex governing system that’s original, and will make the readers ask questions. You always want to keep your readers asking questions as to keep them reading through to the end.

Now why do you give it a try!

Up above is a chart of different forms of government to help you get started!

Stay rebel.

[ I don’t own the chart. just the advice ]

That last bit just reminds me that any time Cas tried to do things the “human way” like when he tried to be a hunter, and broke off from being an angel, Dean would just mock/make fun of him. After he officially became human, Dean discouraged him from doing anything in the supernatural (after making fun of the life he scraped together when Dean kicked him out). I really don’t think the Winchesters are that interested in their “brother™” Cas.

lol and now this is also just reminding me of how at this past JIB Misha said that Cas is still full of self-loathing and doubt and that he never really believes he’s worthy or wanted but then also said that Cas felt like part of the family more than ever this season. Even though he was only treated with reverence and respect when he was dead and when a demon was poorly impersonating him for weeks yet SamnDean couldn’t even tell the difference.

How to put “wrote fan-fiction” on your rĂŠsumĂŠ:

resumespeak:

Leveraged an inventory of established fictional character and setting elements to generate a disruptive custom-curated narrative entertainment asset.

I worked in HR, handling applications and interviews, and if someone turned in that string of techno babble nonsense, I would have rejected them out of hand.

A resume doesn’t need to sound fancy or overly technical, it needs to tell us why we should hire you.

“Independent novelist/writer” is more than sufficient here. If you want to express the skills that fan fiction taught you, something like, “creative writing, editing, and publication,” will get you a lot further than… Whatever that just was.

A resume should be tailored to the position, if you can afford the time and energy for that. But if not, then just think about what writing got fandom taught you. How to respond to criticism, how to present a professional pubic face, how to correct punished mistakes, creative thinking, project planning, persuasion via emotional leverage, html formatting, office suite fluency.

There are a lot of actual, marketable skills that go into fan fiction.
