i havenât seen any noise about this on tumblr yet, but a fire has completely wiped out a small town in california.
theyâre calling it the camp fire. over 20,000 residents have been evacuated so far, the last area estimates i heard were over an hour ago at 18,000 acres and its still zero percent contained.
this is the smoke from about 18 miles away from the fire three hours ago. if you know anyone near chico, paradise, oroville or durham california you might want to check theyâre okay
UPDATE: 4PM FRI NOV. 9, 2018
the fire has completely walked over paradise, magalia, and much of the rest of butte county. itâs under 10% containment and moving towards chico, which was been mostly evacuated as well. itâs been documented as one of the top 20 deadliest fires seen in california. i know many of the people personally whose lives have been destroyed by this fire. my aunt and uncleâs home, of whom weâre very close to, was demolished last night, same goes for family friends and others who lived in paradiseâ which is completely gone. there are 5 confirmed deaths, several dozen missing people.

the majority of those affected by the fire in paradise were elderly people. and having known paradise and magalia myself for years, itâs not a wealthy part of california. these people will need help, and lots of it.
if you have any questions, you can message me personally or seek information online or from the above references personally.
if you cannot help yourself, please spread the word and reblog. so many wonderful people are going through a terrible thing and need your help.
One of my former clients lost everything in this fire. I took care of their cat for a few weeks while they set up their retirement home; it was something they planned on for years. Every time they dropped off or picked him up, they would talk about it. They just moved there in March. Itâs all gone.

President Donald Trump woke up in Paris on Saturday in the mood to make threats toward California as it deals with deadly wildfires in Northern California and hundreds of smoldering homes in Southern California. In an angry tweet, the president threatened to pull federal funding for the state if nothing is done to “remedy” the situation.
Trump is in Paris to take part in a commemoration for the 100th anniversary of the end of World War I. But his mind was still on the disaster unfolding out west in the U.S.
Nine people have died in a spate of wildfires that began this week. All of the deaths were as a result of the Camp Fire in the area of Paradise, California, near Chico. Almost the entire city was decimated by flamesearly Friday.
The president approved an emergency declaration for the state on Friday – but warned he may not do the same in the future. Emergency declarations provide municipalities with air support, relief supplies and evacuation transport.
đšđšđš FYI thereâs a video going around of a guy finding the burned skeleton bodies of his neighbors trapped in their cars from the Camp fire!! Be careful what videos you click on for these fires!!!đšđšđš
Our whole town was destroyed and burned down to the ground. A whole town is gone. Everyoneâs homes and some animals and people didnât make it out. My heart goes out for our towns losses. I hope everyone finds a place to live and food and cloths. God bless you all. Please stay strong. Everyone stay safe. We will get through this.
Crazy eruption of another series of wildfires in California, with losses of houses and businesses, thousands of people evacuated, pets being saved, evacuated or abandoned, and now evacuations starting at the LA Zoo. A month ago, we saw photos of floods and winds with the hurricanes out east, and now these fires again out west.
These fires are being fed by the Santa Ana winds, again.
Recap of the latest fires, and then some photos. All this from the LA Times.
The Camp Fire in northern California, near the area of Chico, has grown to 70,000 acres, and is 5% contained and has burned about 1,000 structures. The entire town of Paradise, which is a retirement community, has burned.
The Woolsey Fire, in Ventura County and LA County, near Thousand Oaks and now Malibu, is 10,000 acres, with 0% containment. (Thousand Oaks is the location of the Borderline Bar & Grill, where 12 people were killed in the gun assault two days ago.) 75,000 homes are under mandatory or voluntary evacuation.
The Hill Fire, also in Ventura County, has consumed 7,000 acres, with 1,200 homes evacuated, and 0% containment.
This morning, another fire started in Griffith Park, in LA, near the LA Zoo. Evacuations of the animals has started with the lemurs. The fire is small (30 acres) and the winds are less of a factor, so the firefighters should be able to contain this one and protect the Zoo.

The 101 Freeway backs up as motorists heading south are turned around by police due to the Hill fire. After all cars were guided off the freeway, it was shut down in both directions.
Uhhhhh did y’all know if you type âevolveâ into the search box in your Pokemon list on Pokemon Go it shows you all the Pokemon you have that have enough candies to evolve??? Because I didnât, and Iâm losing my shit about how useful that is
When people think that reviewing your fic means sending you a PM to âupdate soonâ instead of using the Review box like itâs meant to be used.
Yup. Like I it’s nice to know that people want to know what happens next, but as writers we worked really hard on our fics and want to at least know what was liked, maybe what can be inproved on, etc. Just getting ‘update soon’ gets annoying after a while.
