It’s a real honour [to inspire young people] because all my life I didn’t really have someone to look up to. A mentor, a deaf role model. So I feel like that’s very important for me to be a deaf role model. Not just for deaf people but all disabled people and letting Hollywood know that we can be anything. We can be included in more films, we can be an airplane pilot, we can do anything we want to do. I think that’s an important message.
