This scene will never not end me;  it’s too powerful.
And early Arc-V just had the best child soldiers – on both sides.

And now lemme cry over Shun.

And of course, lemme cry over this scene again too because of course, there is the pre-canon hunted-to-hunter development being highlighted, but also… can you see how unfazed Shun is in response to being dehumanized by a member of the army having eradicated his family and comrades and abducted his sister?

I think about this a lot tbh.

I mean… of course, he is more than used to this by now after three years of war (in accordance with season one canon alone), but still… there are so many instances Shun could’ve shattered, but he never did. He kept fighting his losing battle with his head held high despite watching everthing around him crumble. Shun may have gutted himself as a person, but as a weapon, he will always keep fighting and moving forward- regardless of how futile everything is.

It’s interesting to note that Shun does show emotion when thinking of his family and friends being hunted in cold blood, right here in this moment. He is not about to show grief or sadness in front of the enemy. That would be weakness. One the enemy could easily exploit and use against him. Something that could easily destroy him, himself.
