Cat calling is NOT cute. It makes women uncomfortable. Your sexual comments are not welcome. Even shouting a āhey beautifulā is NOT welcome. We just want to go about our day. From my own experience and my friends, weāve been cat called since 9-10 years old, some even younger. Thatās outright disgusting and atrocious. No one should feel uneasy to walk down streets. Please spread this awareness!
Dark/black shouldnāt always be associated with evil or bad things. In Egypt and Islam, black is a positive color. For desert cultures, black would have been the color of fertile soil and the cooler, more comfortable nights, while white was the color of infertile sand and harsh sunlight. Shade, shelter, and darkness were important and valued for protection from the sun and sand. Clouds that darkened the sky brought life giving rain
What is even more ironic is that the white wedding dress has nothing to do with the virginal or pure state of the bride. Ā It is nothing more than a fashion trend that began 175 years ago, when Queen Victoria married Prince Albert. Ā She wore a white dress as a means to show that she was a āsimpleā woman who was getting married. Ā And she wanted a dress to match some lace she had purchased.
Fun Fact: when a Moroccan woman covers herself in white from head to toe it probably means that she has just been widowed and is grieving over her husband. Itās not really a happy color.
