How is this trope called? where a not straight person attempts to make those around them to be the not straight instead of them?

It’s called projecting and it’s not a trope… It’s actually a denial mechanism for people who can’t deal with their internalized homophobia

tbh stan started dating wendy because that’s what he was “supposed” to do and she reminded him of kyle a little bit, probably

okay so i have a huge post about this in my drafts i’m not done w but this is too exciting for me not to talk about right now so

– stan shows next to no interest in any girls other than wendy whereas the others – cartman, kenny, and kyle – have all had at least passing crushes on several different girls

– stan and wendy have a very surface-level relationship that lives on circular reasoning – stan and wendy are dating, because they’re supposed to be, because stan and wendy have always been dating. its greatest testament is that it’s been so on-going for so long but there’s little basis to them having much in common

– stan (and wendy as well to a much lesser extent) has little to no interest in wendy’s hobbies or interests outside of himself

– wendy and kyle have almost interchangeable personalities; they’re both academically inclined, temperamental, intelligent, political, stubborn,Ā ā€œvoices of reasonā€ and moral centers, sympathetic etc. wendy and kyle have incredibly similar personalities and i don’t think it’s a coincidence that wendy became significantly less prominent after around season 5 with kyle absorbing her role

– stan vomits almost every single time wendy makes any attempt to kiss him which. in context speaks for itself

– stan has been jokingly been accused on multiple occasions by several people of being gay and never denies itĀ

– any intimate physical contact between stan and kyle (hugs, back/arm pats, hand holding etc.) is overwhelmingly almost always initiated by stan – not kyle

– stan is greatly distressed whenever kyle is shown to be in danger/upset and often does all the he can to alleviate it

– just. this:

no addendum no elaborating just stan laying it out that he likes kyle. whereas kyle’s is..

anyway

tl;dr: stanĀ ā€œcompulsory heterosexualityā€ marsh is gay

Trey Parker has LITERALLY SAID in an INTERVIEW that Stan was the most likely one to be gay

Oh yeah so I was thinking about the episode spooky fish where Cartman’s ā€œevilā€ twin appears and the boys constantly tell him how cool he is and how they like him so much better than the other Cartman. The ā€œevilā€ twin looks exactly the same as the old shitty Cartman (save the beard)

All I’m saying is stop pretending that the boys only hate Cartman because he’s fat.

Honesty, I really liked “evil” parallel Cartman a whole lot more, than normal Cartman. Considering how nice and selfless ‘evil’ Cartman was, it just goes to show how much of an asshole ‘our’ Cartman is. It was just really interesting to see the parallels between the characters cause it really highlights their behavior and personalities. That’s not to say that Kyle and Stan can’t be mean, but still doesn’t change that fact. I mean their parallel selves were evil and abusive to ‘evil’ Cartman. So what does that say about our Kyle and Stan.

Also can we just give a shoutout to Stan’s mom. She was just really awesome in how she hid FOUR bodies and held prisoner Officer Barbrady for the sake of her son. That is just amazing. Crazy and questionable behavior, but amazing. I mean one of the victims was her own sister, but she still chose to protect Stan. And the fact that she told her husband. Wow.
