Scrapped the old post as someone finally got me the source: This is actually from the NEW Q&A Toriyama did. He covers a few things about the series, such as what exactly is needed to go Super Saiyan, how the Super Saiyan God fits into the series, and a little on Saiyan hierarchy.
The Super Saiyan bit is interesting to me. This explanation explains a few things, such as why it was easier for Vegeta to transform after having spent time on Earth (and after the whole Freeza vendetta was no longer eating at him) yet harder for him to achieve than Goku. Might be why he never managed to reach SSJ3. It also explains why Goten and Trunks managed to attain it so easily, and why the Universe 6 Saiyans are able to do so easily as well. Heck, given this description, it could even possibly be why Kale has a unique form.
The second bit is a bit of history on Super Saiyan God, how that’s the “Legendary Super Saiyan” referred to by Freeza and Saiyan legend (take THAT, Broly!) and on why the ritual was needed to first take the form. (Note: this actually flies in the face of Toyotaro having given Vegeta the form without need of said ritual, buuut…) Apparently the original who lead the rebellion against the Royal Family was a Saiyan named Yamoshi. Spin-off one-shot when?
And finally, on Saiyan hierarchy. Most of it is what we already knew, but the bit on Infiltration Babies and Engineers is interesting. It seems that Raditz, while considered a low-class warrior in terms of ranking, at least qualified to be a warrior. Goku was considered trash by Vegeta and Saiyan society in that, his power was deemed low enough that he was to be an outcast, likely either doomed to be in a support role, or sent off to become an infiltration baby, which is how Bardock got away with sending him off.
What’s interesting about that, however, is that it means the reason Raditz came to get him (and the reason he tried to force Goku to kill the people of Earth) was actually due to Goku’s tenure as an Infiltration Baby was intended to be a Trial by Combat. They’re sent to these planets to have to fight for survival and to carry out the cleansing of that world, and only then can they return to their homeworld a warrior. Raditz demanding Goku slaughter at least X amount of humans before coming with him was Raditz trying to enforce this rite of passage on his little brother.
So that’s some pretty interesting info, I think. (Source 1) (Source 2)
No but seriously imagine being a civilian in gotham and trying to start a hobby “i tried to start collecting stamps but now all my co-workers think i’m going to be the next themed supervillain”
No hobbies allowed in Gotham. Hobbies lead to obsessions.
Well we know what hobby that could lead to an obsession @petiteidiot
