After last season, where Kyle caused millions of people to die, can we stop acting as if he’s so much better and more “moral” than Cartman though?
this is inherently going to sound like iโm being defensive of kyle โ which, i am, but i donโt know how to explain to you if itโs not readily apparent that thereโs a big difference between kyle speaking recklessly in anger to an inopportune person that inadvertently and indirectly results in innocent peoplesโ deaths โ of which he is wrecked w guilt about afterward b/c he had no intention or desire to have done so โ and cartman routinely psychologically breaking people in malice and either attempting to or successfully orchestrating their physical harm and/or deaths for personal satisfaction which he has almost never felt anything resembling regret or remorse for

I wrote about this one time, but I have yet to see every season, so idk how the whole Heidi thing also screwed with Kyle’s emotions. Watching the episode tho the impression I got was that:
It seems Kyle felt that part of Canada’s culture and its worldview of such ‘mean’ things is what has made people be so ruthless and mean with one another, hence wanting people to be aware of this and stop it so maybe the world can start to be more kinder. I mean, idk, if within the show’s universe Canada’s culture is like that or that’s just how they view humor, regardless if its on tv or not. Canada’s tv show of Terrance and Philip basically potrayed this – that people don’t care about the misfortune of others, hence laughing at people being farted on. So, maybe this is a cultural problem. And maybe that’s how Kyle viewd it hence the strike against Canada itself. But of course people can he so hostle and downright stupid when it comes to politics and controversial views, so no surprise it went horribly wrong.
But like you said, at least Kyle was shocked and repented by the missile attack on Canada. He NEVER meant for it to go that far. His emotions got the better of him and definitley influenced his lack of carefulness with his words and the possible reprucussions that his actions would bring.
Again, I haven’t seen all of South Park nor all of the events leading up to the missile strike, but that’s just the impression I got. Just wanted to add my two cents in. Maybe I’m wrong on what Kyle felt, but I do know for a fact that Kyle would not have wanted the death of millions of Canadians. At most maybe he just wanted to cancel the series.

Elderly Woman: Eugene, that is disgusting! Did you just pee in the pool?
Elderly Man: Aw, come on, look how big this pool is. One person peeing in it isnโt gonna hurt anything.
Kyle: Eewww! (he moves his hands)โโโโโโโโโโโโโโโ
Can someone gif this hands movement please?

Almost everyone was just so done with Cartman’s bs. Lol. I loved how Wendy, though, just ran with Cartman’s crap and turned it against him, officially getting him from reading the morning announcments any longer. Just really smart and amazing.
Also her level of control was incredible. The whole time I was just thinking, ‘Cartman do you not remember how Wendy kicked your ass???’. I was cheering for her to do it again, but what she ended up doing was much better. Lol

i counted the number of lines each character has in each season of the show to try to graph their prominence over time. i think itโs pretty interesting.ย

If Stan would be a body part, he would be the heart, keeping the system alive but so vulnerable, the soil for Emotions to grow out of wildly and untamed.
Kyle would be the Brain, collection of an endless stream of information, ruled by logic, thinking and thinking until the end. They just did not fit well together.
