This place is filled with injured Pokémon. If we take all of them, there may be some wheat among the chaff.”
“Even a poor marksman will hit a target with enough shots.” James said with a serious expression.
That was their motto… The words they lived by. Simply put, a phrase that briefly summarises their approach to life.
“I’ve heard that somewhere before…” Ash recalled Professor Oak saying the same thing on the phone earlier.
“A poor marksman… What does that mean?” Ash asked Team Rocket.
“You know they’ll miss, but with enough bullets, one may hit eventually. There’s the occasional fluke in the world. You can’t win the lottery unless you buy a ticket. If there’s nothing to lose, you might as well give it a shot.” James politely explained, reading from a dictionary.
“It’s really the best approach for anything. Whether you’re stealing Pokémon, or searching for a boyfriend or getting married.” Jessie said earnestly, while nodding to herself for some reason.
“So, I’m a poor marksman… I’ve got nothing to lose.” Ash’s shoulders slumped.
It had been thirty minutes since his phone call with Professor Oak, and its meaning finally stabbed him.

“Meowth Attack.” Pocket Monsters: the Animation Vol. 1: Departure by former head writer of the Pokemon anime, Takeshi Shudo. (via ariverofmilk)

So, apparently the Japanese release of Pokémon: I Choose You had a post credits scene with Giovanni walking into a room with Mewtwo in his armor from the first movie, saying “Let’s begin”

Why the heck was that cut from the English release?! That would have been awesome!

Moreover… does that mean they’re planning a sequel to the movie. Are they going to make a series of films set in this continuity?

If that’s the case… I’m all for it. The movies have been getting stale and formulaic for a while now, having them be original stories in an explicitly alternate continuity could give the writers more freedom to write more creative, epic stories like I Choose You.

If they can have anywhere near the animation and overall writing quality as I Choose You did, then honestly I think this would be a fantastic idea. Hopefully this isn’t just a tease and the next movie isn’t just a typical Sun and Moon era movie.
