sixpenceee:

Harold is one of the creepiest dolls we’ve ever come across. Check out the following story from his last owner:

ā€œHarold
was originally put up for auction in 2003. He is supposedly the first
haunted doll ever sold on eBay. The listing Greg wrote made him the
subject of websites, and news articles around the world.

I
didn’t see the original auction, until Kathy, who won the auction put
it up for sale a year later. Kathy told me that the reason she bid on
the doll was not because she believed the stories, but because she
wanted to learn doll restoration, and her teacher told her that this
doll was perfect to learn on.

A year later,
after having a number of personal experiences, including the deaths of
two people she knew after they came in contact with Harold, she decided
to put the doll back up for sale.

When I saw
Kathy’s auction on eBay, I looked at Greg’s original listing and
literally laughed out loud. I didn’t believe a word of it or the video
he posted. So how did I end up owning this doll?

Kathy had a reserve on her auction, and I was curious as to what it was. I kept putting in bids until the reserve was met.

I
received an email from Kathy which started by saying, ā€œI don’t believe
Harold is haunted, but I do believe he’s cursed.ā€ She went on to say why
she thought so, and asked why I wanted the doll.

I
told her I didn’t want the doll. The next day I was outbid by someone
calling himself, ā€œStrange Majik.ā€ He told me not to bother bidding any
more because he’d just outbid me.

ā€œYou might,ā€ I
thought, ā€œbut it’ll cost you.ā€ My plan was to bid him up and then dump
the auction on him. It didn’t happen that way. I ended up winning the
auction.

Kathy was genuinely worried for me and
offered to let me out of the deal, but I declined. After all, I told
her, a deal is a deal.

Shortly after I received
Harold I asked a friend of mine to do a reading on him. I recorded the
reading. It didn’t last long, maybe a minute or two, at the most.

ā€œI can’t do this. He just threatened to kill me.ā€

I
was disappointed, and skeptical. I listened to the recording and
clearly heard a male voice saying, ā€œI’m going to kill you, bitch!ā€

I was stunned. I had more readings done, and seen people physically hurt in front of my eyes while in Harold’s presence.

I
put Harold in storage in 2005, only taking him out occasionally after
that. This past June, of 2013, I took him out of storage to continue my
investigation of him. So far, four psychics have done readings on him,
and none of them wanted to have anything to do with him afterwards.ā€

The Petrified Forest National Park in Arizona has always attracted people with its beautiful fossilized logs of trees that existed over 200 million years ago. Even though it is prohibited to take specimens from the park, people nonetheless steal pieces of petrified wood all the time. But what has also been reported, as far back as the 1930′s, is that those who take anything from the park are equally cursed with bad luck. The museum at the park has an entire room dedicated to the confessions from these thieves, usually written as letters sent to the park along with the pieces of petrified wood that were stolen. There is also a ā€œConscience Pileā€ of fossils that sits at one of the entrances to the park, where countless thieves have quietly returned the fossils they stole. The rocks are not put back in the park, and merely sit as a monument to the curse of the petrified wood.

Since I was bored, I decided to look for a new radio show to listen to and came across ‘Jim Harold’s Spooky Station’. Downloaded the app and headed to the ‘Paranormal Podcast’ in the app. There I watched the ep ‘The Black Diary’ featuring the author of the book Nick Redfern who btw, is one of my fave authors.

Anyways, during the show they discussed The Men in Black, Women in Black, and Black-Eyed Kids phenomenon. And Nick stated that people who have read books concerning the MIB phenomenon have had spooky stuff or even visits from the MIB themselves. And that the warning, ‘Read at your own risk’ on his new book, was no joke rather warning about these potential encounters and spooky activity.

So, this reminded me if my MIB dream that I wrote about here. And I’m just like ???? Is it actually connected?! The fact that I’ve been reading about Skinwalkers with its own warning of reading and was threatened by the MIB in my dreams :O I mean, he said it was mainly specifically books on the MIB, but still, it’s creepy. Lol. Plus, some people think they are actually demons or related to the shadow people.

Either way, I still want a copy of Black Diary to read. Especially because it looks like it was have new details about all this phenomenon I had not heard about.

So, when and if, I get the book. I’ll let u know in case I disappear xD

I had such a freaky dream about the Men in Black, not the movie, but the phenomenon. Basically, I was in this building, I guess like a classroom cause there were a lot of people my age. I was all the way in the back of the room on the compter researching stuff. Next to me were a bunch of students clearly. On my left this guy was trying to teach another guy math and on my right were just other students hanging out.

Anyways, as I was on the computer, I think I had been on youtube cause I was mad that this guy had closed all the tabs. I exclaimed that I was barely going to bookmark that page. So, I went through the computer trying to find the button for history to go back to the page, but no such button. I guess, it was actually like a old computer cause it looked like the one in the 90’s for some reason.

Then, that’s where the Men in Black entered the building. Realizing this, with my nerves set and pulse racing, I quickly tried to close the webpage, but it was blank on that annoying ‘Not responding’. Luckily, everything closed before they got to where I was. They said they were, of course, looking for me and handed me a bunch of papers about what I had been researching.

The research was about an airplane that had gone down. Here, I sort of got like flashes in my mind, of terrorists, guns, something shooting towards the plane like a missile or something, fire, the crashed plane. Basically, what I had been researching was the truth and controversy of what happened to that plane.

Anyways, after handing me those papers, the MIB said that I had to stop what I was doing. And the next line sent chills down my back, ‘Or you will die.’

With that they left. And I was just there kind of with my mouth open in fear and shock. One of the main thoughts racing through my mind was the utter surprise that the MIB had made such a statement and entered a building with so many witnesses. Also, the fact that, I now understood why people would destroy all their research after such an encounter. It was intimidating and frightning, fearing for your life.

Thus, the scene changed and I was lying down with my mom next to me. She had been present for some reason when the MIB had showed up. In a quiet voice I explained to her what they wanted and whar they were. I also kept very vauge my research because I was fearful they wouls be watching. In addition, in the corner or my eye, near the shadows, I could have sworn I saw a shadowy figure with a hat. Much like the MIB would look in shadows or peraps the Hat Man.

At this point I was utterly exhausted and scared, fighting to keep my eyes open. Mom told me to try and rest, but I didn’t want to for fear that I would never wake up.

——————–

And this is when I pretty much woke up. I have no idea. Dream sort of freaked me out. I probably dreamed it because I read @sixpenceee stories before going to bed. Lol. And the only real parnanormal stuff I have been reading is, ‘Skinwalker Ranch No Trespassing’. Though, I’ve been reading it during long intervals.

And I’m just here like, this better not mean my life is in danger!!! Or that I will get a visit soon!! Or that there is a damn demon in my house now!! lol. Maybe I’ve made Satan mad cause I’ve been reading scriptures lol. If he is, more reason to, pffft.

Screaming Woods

Pluckley, Kent, UK

Dering Woods a.k.a. Screaming Woods sit just south of what is said to be
the most haunted village in Britain, Pluckley. The woods get their name
because of the blood curdling screams people sometimes hear coming from
the forest late at night. Described as the most haunted woodland in
Kent, Screaming Woods is said to be haunted by a highwayman who was
captured by villagers, brought to the woods, pinned to a tree and killed
with a sword, and a screaming man who is said to have fallen to his
death. Ā Here’s a post from an interesting message board thread where
people are discussing Screaming Woods and sharing experiences.

This picture was taken by Photographer Oren Jeffries while he was exploring some un-mapped area of the Grand Caverns(Virginia). Jeffries liked to use long exposure technique to catch anything without any light what so ever. While he was setting up for his snaps, he heard something in the distance which spooked him. He set off one of hisĀ Blitzlicht flashes he used for taking traditional photos underground and ran. In a later interview he gave to a local newspaper, he said that he saw ā€œhumanoidā€ figures looking back at him. A few days after that he went back with a few friends to retreive his box camera which had this picture recorded inside of it.

This also reminds me of The Descent. If youre creeped out by humanoid figures in dark caves, then you’ll love this movie

So, guys. I’m here on my phone with my mom who is watching La Rosa Da Guadalupe and she catches that movement in the corner. You can see something white passing by.

I recorded the scene with my phone and turned it into a gif. What is it? A cat? A rabbit? Mom finds it strange cause there were no animals whatsoever that appeared in the ep. We’re joking that it’s a paranormal entity the camera captured. Lol.

I tried slowing the gif down more as you can see above.

So what do u guys think? xD

This Presence Even More Terrifying Than the Slender Man Is Driving Teens to Suicide, But Why?

horror-is-not-dead:

In South Dakota, a sinister urban legend named ā€œWalking Samā€ is thought to have driven over ten teenagers to take their own lives, but how can a mythological figure drive people to such desperate measures?

The scene of the shocking spate of suicides is the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation, home to the Oglala Lakota sub-tribe of Sioux Native Americans, but also something a lot more ominous.

The Native American tribe believes in a mysterious, shadowy figure that walks the plains whispering suicidal urges into people’s ears. Although the Oglala Lakota tribe refers to him as the ā€œTall Man Spirit,ā€ this haunting presence has became colloquially known as ā€œWalking Sam.ā€ Tribe president John Yellow Bird Steele explained that many Sioux believed in: ā€œA suicide spirit similar to the Slender Man.ā€

Reservation minister, Chris Carey, even went as far as to tell The Times thatā€ ā€œA Tall Man spirit is appearing to these kids and telling them to kill themselves.ā€

Although blaming the suicides on this spectral figure of traditional folklore might seem far-fetched, there is no denying the amount of young people taking their lives on the reservation is much higher than the national average.

Since December, a distressing 103 suicide attempts have occurred on the reservation, and out of them, nine young people between the ages of 12 and 24 have died.Ā While the these deaths are obviously saddening and shocking, a foiled mass suicide is perhaps the most chilling tale to creep out of Pine Ridge. In February, Pastor John Two Bulls was alerted that a group of teens had planned to kill themselves in a mass suicide. After rushing to the spot, he was confronted with a cluster of nooses hanging from the trees and a group of young people who had converged at the spot.
Luckily counseling was offered and the teenagers were dispelled before they could harm themselves, but this tale could have ended in enormous tragedy.

Just Who is ā€˜Walking Sam?’

Walking Sam is just as showy a figure in folklore as he is in real life. The origins of the legend cannot be pin pointed due to the Native American oral tradition of passing down stories, but it is believed that his name has been spoken for centuries.

Known by multiple names, including ā€œStovepipe Hat Bigfootā€ and ā€œBig Man,ā€ Walking Sam is strangely similar to the much better known Slender Man in appearance.

He is said to be seven foot tall with an impossibly lean figure and long, spindly limbs with no mouth. When he extends his arms, the dead bodies of Lakota men and women hang from them.

Walking Sam is similar in appearance to Slender Man

In folklore, Walking Sam’s presence is not intrinsically hostile. It’s said he was sent to this earth as punishment and is constantly seeking company to whom he cannot speak.

In Peter Mathiessen’s 1983 book about Pine Ridge, In the Spirit of Crazy Horse,he is described as follows:

ā€œThere is your Big man standing there, ever waiting, ever present, like the coming of a new day… He is both spirit and real being, but he can also glide through the forest, like a moose with big antlers, as though the trees weren’t there… I know him as my brother… I want him to touch me, just a touch, a blessing, something I could bring home to my sons and grandchildren, that I was there, that I approached him, and he touched me.ā€

How Widespread Are the Beliefs?

According to The Daily Dot, many local people believe in Walking Sam and he has made his presence known at tribal council meetings with government officials. Blogger, Mike Crowley, explained how at one meeting:

ā€œA woman, who was elderly but otherwise quite lucid, described Walking Sam as a big man in a tall hat who has appeared around the reservation and caused young people to commit suicides. ā€

He also reported meeting a local bookstore owner who told him

ā€œThere really are bad spirits out there on the reservation, and you need to be careful. She said that if you go looking for them, you might just find them.ā€ Ā

Another Explanation

Although Walking Sam a captivating tale, the real reason for the dramatic spate of tragic suicides is probably more to do with the extreme poverty that the Oglala Lakota tribe live in.

The Pine Ridge Reservation has some of the worst rates of alcoholism and drug abuse, violence and unemployment in America, and life expectancy for men is below 50 years, the lowest in the Western Hemisphere.

Racism has also been cited as a reason that so many Oglala Lakota teens are driven to kill themselves. Santana Janis, who killed herself aged just 12 years old, was called a ā€œfilthy Indianā€ in a hotel lobby just days before she died, and Pine Ridge students were doused with beer and forced to leave a hockey game outside the reservation for their own safety just two months ago. In the words of Santana’s grandfather:

ā€œOur kids today just want to die because they’re sick of all this oppression.ā€

Walking Sam might have become the spiritual totem for these suicides, and a figure that the teens themselves empathize with, but this shouldn’t distract the eyes of the world from the very real challenges the Oglala Lakota people face in their day to day life.

Walking Sam might be a compelling myth, but the teen suicides are real and tearing the soul of the reservation apart.
