“Introductio in Chaldaicam linguam, Syriacam atque Armenicam et decem alias linguas characterum differentium alphabeta circiter quadraginta et eorundem invicem conformatio“
The image is allegedly the result ofÂ
Ludovico Spoletano conjuring the devil to ask it a question. Spoletano claims that a strange force took the pen, which seemed suspended in the air, and rapidly wrote what is facsimiled. Spoletano the handed the writing over to Albonesi who was unable to decipher it. In fact no one has been able to decipher the text to this day.
Here are screenshots of the text surrounding the Devil’s Handwriting in case you guys were curious.
Based out of an abandoned Air Force radar station on the eastern end of Long Island, the Montauk Project was a series of top secret United States government experiments following the Philadelphia Experiment, whose purpose was to create the technology to render ships invisible to radar detection.
The 1943 project was almost too much of a success, as the USS Eldridge supposedly went literally invisible before being teleported into another dimension, eventually reappearing off the coast of Norfolk, Virginia.Because many of the crew died when the project went wrong and those who didn’t were driven to the brink of insanity, official funding for the Philadelphia Experiment was pulled.
However, scientists and military officials were fascinated with the experiment’s results and wanted to continue exploring the possibilities of teleportation and interdimensional travel, so the Montauk Project was launched in the 1960s. Headed by Dr. John von Neumann, the Montauk Project focused on examining the psychological changes of those who traveled through dimensions and determining why the Philadelphia Experiment was a disaster despite its achievements in teleportation. According to their theories, humans are born with a time reference point that is linked to the electromagnetic fields unique to this Earth and dimension.
This is why such a dramatic jump to another dimensional plane was detrimental to so many of the crew, causing insanity and death. During the Montauk Project experiments, Von Neumann solved this problem by creating a computer-simulated Earth and altering the body’s time reference points.
According to documents on the Montauk Project, Von Neumann succeeded at sending people to other dimensions without consequence. However, upon the experiment’s completion in 1967, a report was sent to Congress on their findings about mind control and interdimensional travel. Congress halted funding and terminated the project, fearing of mass mind control.
Let me start by saying that I know how hard this all will be to believe, but now that things have taken a turn for the worse I started looking for stories similar to mine and found Week in Weird. I feel like I should share this story with someone and your website seems like the right place.  I made the mistake of letting the Black Eyed Kids inside and now I’m worried that I might die because of it. I hope this will be a warning to everyone who is ever in the position to make the same mistake that I did.
Built in 1756 in Allentown, PA, this historic inn and restaurant operated almost continuously until 2012. It will soon be turned into office space after original plans to demolish the structure were met with widespread outcry. The inn has been a national historic site since 1976, and before that was place of refuge for soldiers and Native Americans alike during multiple wars. The inn has also fallen prey to many brutal attacks during the early years of American history. One such attack occurred during the French and Indian War, when Native Americans seized the inn and killed most of the patrons inside, including a young mother and her baby. The baby’s body was then thrown down a cistern to poison the well water for future guests. The cistern is still in the inn, sitting behind a wall.Â
A baby’s cries are often heard coming from the cistern’s location. The apparition of a man who hung himself on the upper staircase, named Charlie, has been seen and felt around the building. Employees attribute the many paranormal pranks, such as moving and hidden objects, to Charlie. The apparitions of a colonial woman and little girl have been seen together on the first floor. A colonial man with a beard has also interacted with those who’ve worked or stayed at the inn. On one occasion, he was seen by a male employee in the stockroom, and laughed a silent laugh before disappearing in front of the man. Revolutionary War soldiers are also spotted, as well as various other humanoid figures.Â
In 1587, Raleigh dispatched a new group of 115 colonists to establish a colony on Chesapeake Bay. They were led by John White, an artist and friend of Raleigh who had accompanied the previous expeditions to Roanoke. Shortly thereafter, colonist George Howe was killed by a native while searching alone for crabs in Albemarle Sound. Fearing for their lives, the colonists persuaded Governor White to return to England to explain the colony’s desperate situation and ask for help. White sailed for England in late 1587, although crossing the Atlantic at that time of year was a considerable risk. Because of the continuing war with Spain, White was unable to mount another resupply attempt for an additional three years. He finally gained passage on a privateering expedition that agreed to stop off at Roanoke on the way back from the Caribbean. White landed on August 18, 1590, but found the settlement deserted. The only clue was the word “CROATOAN” carved into a post of the fence around the village. All the houses and fortifications had been dismantled, which meant that their departure had not been hurried. Before he had left the colony, White instructed them that, if anything happened to them, they should carve a Maltese cross on a tree nearby, indicating that their absence had been forced. There was no cross, and White took this to mean that they had moved to Croatoan Island (now known as Hatteras Island), but he was unable to conduct a search. The end of the 1587 colony is unrecorded, leading to the colony being referred to as the “Lost colony”, with multiple hypotheses existing as to the fate of the colonists. X
I first heard about this while watching Destination America’s, ‘Terror in the Woods’. One of the stories was about a woman’s husband who claimed to have encountered a werewolf and she commented how maybe that was what could have happened to the Lost Colony. Interested, I just had to read about this incident.
I just love when my fascination with the paranormal makes me learn about real historical events.
Many of us already know a little bit about the Croatoan mystery, and how it connects to the chilling story of the lost colony of Roanoke Island. Â
It was settled in 1587 and was already set to become famous when Virginia Dare was born on the 18th of August, the first English child to be born on American soil. Â The colony was near what was once called Croatoan Island, now called Cape Hatteras. Â John White, the governor, sailed away to England and when he returned after three years, found the entire settlement deserted. Â There was no sign of the 90 men, 17 women, and 11 children that had lived there, nor any sign of a struggle, a battle, or a kidnapping.Â
All that was left were two graves an, carved into a post on a fort, the word “Croatoan”.
That’s where the story seems to end, at least most versions of it, but only very recently did I read several articles mentioning the word “croatoan” in connection with other disappearances and deaths.
A few days before his death, Edgar Allen Poe was brought to his death bed, delirious, whispering the word “croatoan” again and again.
The same word was found scribbled in the journal of Amelia Earhart after her disappearance in 1937.
The word was found carved into the post of the bed that horror writer Ambrose Bierce slept in just before he vanished in Mexico in 1913.
The word was scratched on the wall of the cell that notorious stagecoach robber Black Bart inhabited before he was released from prison in 1888, only to disappear right afterward.
Perhaps most disturbing is its appearance on the last page of the logbook of the ship Carroll A. Deering when it ran aground in 1921 with no one aboard, on – wait for it – Cape Hatteras.  Croatoan Island.
in 1966, according to John Keel, the paranormal investigator mostly know for his book
The Mothman Prophecies.Â
The story about the Ginning man involved 2 boys walking along a street in New Jersey in October 1966. The boys were walking in the same area that earlier that day a woman had reported being chased by a “tall, green man”, and the two were nervous about the story. They were to report later that they saw perhaps the same man, standing behind a fence in some brush, looking at a house across the road from the boys.
The being was behind them, and was wearing a green one-peice suit that reflected the streetlights nearby. It noticed the boys looking at him, turned and began to smile – a grin that stretched from ear to ear. Having elongated eyes, the boys could not make out whether the creature had ears, a nose or hair.
That same night, miles away, reports of a “bright-white” UFO began filtering in to the police, and several officers reportedly saw the object themsleves hovering near a local reservior.
