The Crimean Crow

During the Crimean War (1854-1856) a creature (or creatures) was spotted on March 15th during a 24 hour truce between Russian and Turkish forces. The truce was only called because of superstitions associated with the “Ides of March” (historical significance: the day Brutus and 60 others assassinated Julius Caesar.) A short time after midnight several men were shot approaching a Russian camp, there are two accounts of what led those men to walk/run into the Russian camp. According to a survivor, he was apart of a squad of 5 Russian soldiers going to ambush the Turkish once the truce was lifted at midnight. When the group reached the halfway point the skies allegedly blackened and the men became distracted by a large creature that was described as a headless crow. One person in the group had to force the group to continue but by that point they had become disoriented and began to head back to their camp. Now this is the part of the story that differentiates between the two accounts. In one account the soldiers were mistaken for enemies forces and shot by guards on duty with only one surviver while in another account the guards shot five enemy Turkish troops fleeing towards their camp away from a swarm of bats. Some people believe this to be the earliest known sighting of a Mothman type creature.

unexplained-events:

Don Julian was a hermit who lived in a shack located on the island. He claimed that the ghost of a young girl who drowned in the canal haunted him. To appease her angry spirit, Julian began collecting baby dolls and hanging them from the trees for her to play with. In 2001, Julian was found dead by his nephew. He had drowned in the same canal as the girl who tormented him through out his life.

Tourists who visit the island today claim to hear the dolls whispering and some of the dolls open and shut their eyes on their own accord. The island has been featured on the Syfy Channel show Destination Truth, in which a paranormal investigating team spent the night on the island. They had a terrifying experience, seeing apparitions, feeling inexplicable paranoia, and hearing disembodied voices.

There have been accounts of these dolls speaking in different tongues and moving their heads.

The Creepy Sensabaugh Tunnel

Located off the Big Elm Road in Kingsport, Tennessee, the tunnel was
believed to have been constructed during the 1920’s but now sits in
disrepair with several graffiti spread across the face of its walls. It
is believed that the haunted nature of tunnel is accredited to the the
tunnel being the site of grizzly murders, death, and even satanic
rituals.

Locals who live int he nearby tunnel has warned visitors
from venturing into the said structure. It has been reported that the
tunnel has become the site where demonic apparitions appear, where car
engines die out of the blue and where the eerie shrieks of trapped women
and babies would echo. (Source)
