Cute things to do with your crested gecko that won’t stress it the fuck out:

  • Let it walk on you. You’re a big tree. Wear thin clothing to feel that gentle touch. Feel it crawl on your neck.
  • Put the tip of your finger under whatever gecko hand might be free floating. It’s a gecko high five.
  • Wear really wide sleeves and hold one in front of your gecko’s face. It might climb in. It might even turn around to look out which will be extra cute. Make sure it doesn’t get too far inside and ends up under your armpit or on your back
  • Make a cave with your hand (like a fist except without the closing it part) and hold it in front if your gecko. If you’re lucky it will keep walking into your little cave and then look out of it on the other side which will be super adorable.
  • Have it sit on your hand like a gun. Make shooting noises while you gently move your hand back and forth imitating recoil. Don’t press your thumb on the back of your gecko.
  • Have it sit in a cup.

Cute Cruel things to do with your crested gecko that will probably stress it the fuck out:

  • When it sits on your hand just turn your hand upside down to see whether your gecko is fit enough to hold on.
  • Make it curl its tail around your finger and then just slowly lift it off whatever surface it is on. Is your gecko is fit enough to lift itself up just by core muscle strength?
  • Make it climb along a super thin wire, cable or branch. Is your gecko nimble or will it fall? Will it try to hold onto its own hands over and over again?

Things that aren’t even cute and will always stress it the fuck out:

  • Put it on other, bigger animals.
  • Give it into the hands of clumsy children or careless adults.
  • Put it on surfaces that are too hot or cold.
  • Wake it up during the day to make it run around your garden in broad daylight. Put it into the middle of the lawn without any place to hide.
  • Let it eat highly processed human food.
  • Push it into places to take pictures.
  • Put heavy things on it to take pictures.
  • Throw it into water to “test if it can swim”.

This goes for most other gecks too. Please be kind

This post is going to rushed but I’m still shaking and it’s hard to type but I NEED people to know this

My mom just took my dog to the vet
She(my dog) was(still is?) having a seizure

Last month we took my dog to the vet and they told us she had developed diabetes, they told us it was caused by the food she was eating, purina beneful.
They told us that there have been many many many reports of Beneful has been causing diabetes, seizures, and even death in dogs.

We had no idea

We immediately switched her food and put her on a special diet plan for her diabetes, unfortunately the effects were already permeate.

Today at 11:20 my mom woke me up crying, I helped her carry my dog to the car (while she was still having a seizure) and watched her drive away red faced and still crying.

Please please PLEASE if you are feeding your pets Purina beneful PLEASE switch their food ASAP
Beneful is poising dogs and I don’t want anyone else to experience what I just did
Also if you could please help me signal boost this so everyone can know

This would explain why my dog has seizures now
fucking hell

Reblog and save lives of dogs

found out purina was the reason my dog winston had been having seizures and puking. please don’t feed your dog purina.

reblog even if you don’t own a dog or even if you’re not “a dog person” because I can’t even imagine how horribly depressed I would be if this happened to my dog

This blog did not and will not send requests for bitcoin donations.

There seems to be a virus or some sort of malware going around causing blogs to “send out” chat messages to blogs that they follow asking for help with the purchase of certain items through donations of seemingly small amounts using bitcoin and adds a link to the message.

The message goes as following (at least the first message I got went like this): “Hi there buddy. I need help, I’m trying to buy a laptop and I can’t afford it. I’m about 0.36$ short, and I’d really appreciate if you could help me and transfer some money to me via bitcoin using this *link*.”

The small details in the message seems to have a few variations with the greeting, amount and purchased item showing up in different variations from formal to friendly, from 0.016 to 2$ and from a phone case to a laptop among others.

The blogs that are affected send out the messages to blogs that they follow for a long time mostly, so you are most likely to receive the message from a long time, active follower whose name you might recognize or a mutual etc. The blogs that are affected are not spam bots but actual active followers who follow the recipient for months or years and most likely the blogger who “sent” the message is unaware of the message being sent.

DO NOT OPEN THE LINK.

Opening up the link will cause the virus to spread even more and infect your computer/mobile with any sort of malware.

If you have received a message of that sort from this blog please know that it was not sent by me or within my control and ignore/delete the message without clicking the link.

Got dozens of these and sorry if you got a spam from me!

I just learned about the “Husband Stitch” a few days ago and i’m still fucking mortified. Women’s bodies do not exist for the pleasure of their boyfriends or husbands.

Doctors who perform this procedure without the consent of the pregnant person are evil misogynists, undeserving of the privilege of working with pregnant women and other people.

Oh my god, nooooo.

If this is done incorrectly (and yes, I know someone this was done incorrectly to) it makes sex really uncomfortable, like realllly uncomfortable, and can require follow-up surgery to fix. The person I know who this was done to ended up with the, uh, outside getting the ‘husband stitch’ but the inside
not? So she ended up with a little ‘lip’ of tissue that would get seriously irritated during sex, and over a decade later had to have another doctor go back in and snip that ‘extra stitch’ open.

Yes, it was that bad.

I would recommend reading this article and then reading Carmen Maria Machado’s The Husband Stich.

An excerpt from the above article:

I was first introduced to the husband stitch in 2014, when a friend in medical school told me about a birth her classmate observed. After the baby was delivered, the doctor said to the woman’s husband, “Don’t worry, I’ll sew her up nice and tight for you,” and the two men laughed while the woman lay between them, covered in her own and her baby’s blood and feces. The story terrified me, the laughter in particular, signaling some understanding of wrongdoing, some sheepishness in doing it anyway. The helplessness of the woman, her body being altered without her consent by two people she has to trust: her partner, her doctor.

So many people don’t even know what this is. The Wikipedia article on the husband stitch was published this month.

Just adding my voice that this is indeed real and it was done to me. I haven’t enjoyed sex since I had my son and honestly I’m concerned about having a second child because I was so “small” the first time around I ended up with 3rd degree tearing.

Yes I have that same lip and the only reason I never went back to get it fixed is the conception/birth was so traumatic I couldn’t bring myself to be touched like that by doctors for years.

Just, be aware and let someone advocate for you when you’re in labor. Ask your OBGYN their thoughts on this and choose carefully.

Bitch wha?!!!??

Enrollment for 2018 Affordable Care Act (ACA / Obamacare) starts November 1 and ends December 15. Trump (what an asshole) reduced the ADVERTISING funds by 90% to announce when people can enroll. Spread the word.

Also the site will be down for “maintenance” for 12 hours every Sunday during this period, 12 am – 12 pm (I believe that’s ET).Â
