Good job killing yourself while the kingdom is in great peril and leaving everyone and your poor mother to stop the enemy. Not to mention the entire moon kingdom turning to stone. Just good job.

Oh and let’s not forget how again you decided to commit suicide when the world is still in jeapordy once more.

It must have been super hard thinking you killed your love. Yes, but you have your responsibilities. The Sailor Senshi watched the people they love die, but they still stood up and fought.

They took so much damage and have suffered so much. For Usagi. And she decides to do this?! Great job endangering the world!

Look how physically hurt Mars is. Imagine the other girls. Again, they took a lot of damage.

Usagi is no where near worthy of the title princess. Even until the end she was crying until her bf helped her. The relationship and view she has with Endymion is toxic:

– relies on him for strength

– alwags being saved by him

– killing herself because she can’t live without him

So much for the opening song lyrics of not needing a man’s protection.

The other girls rely and support each other. Drawing strength on one another, but they can still stand and fight on their own. They know their responsibilities and the sacrifices they have to make. To be strong. Usagi just throws all that away.

Minako the Goddess

Something that’s very interesting about Minako/Sailor Venus is that, not only is she the character with the most mythological references to her namesake, she is the only character in the series to be called a goddess or anything divine.

There’s also this fantastic panel, which states that the Silver Millennium version of Sailor Venus had the same origin as the mythical Aphrodite.Ā

In Classical Mythology, Aphrodite/Venus was born when Uranus, the personification of the sky, was castrated by his son Cronus (aka Saturn). When his severed genitals dropped into the ocean, the foam from them gave birth to Aphrodite (hence her name, which means ā€œfoam-arisenā€) while the ErinyesĀ (or theĀ Furies) were born from the blood that was spilled. Eventually, Aphrodite emerged from the foam of the sea, fully grown and floating on a scallop shell.Ā

While our Venus’s origin story presumably didn’t involve castration (hopefully, although knowing Minako…), her marine origin remains intact. In addition, a drop of the foam she was born from crystalized and turned into a gem, which was then revered as a Venusian treasure.Ā

So I have to wonder, which came first in the SM universe: The myths or the Senshi? I think that, during the Silver Millennium, the Senshi (as well as the other immortal inhabitants of the Silver Millennium) inspired Classical Mythology, and over time the myths began to take their own shape and deviate from the source material (especially after the fall of the Silver Millennium).

And that’s why I love Sailor Venus so much. All my love for her. šŸ’›āšŸ’›

Literal Goddess šŸ’›šŸŒ™

Look at my girl, first one to jump into action and she just shakes off that attack like a boss šŸ‘‘

She is a literal queen okay. Minako was the one who took the brunt of the attacks and was still able to stand the longest

Minako is the real hero of this show šŸ’›šŸŒ™
