A short manga about a cute assassin from Toshiya Wakabayashi, mangaka of Tsurezure Children

He tried posting it on reddit but couldn’t figure out how to so he just copied someone else’s post

I will protect this man with my life.

Another thing

He actually redrew one of the panels since the original animal pun couldn’t translate

Great news everyone! Part 2 is finally in English

Okay can yall reblog this to share something that’s actually helpful? There are two websites that can assist people with triggers to know whether or not a movie is going to be something they should avoid. The first one is:

https://www.doesthedogdie.com/

Originally created to list whether or not the animals in movies were harmed, it has expanded to list a number of triggering things like people being cut, jumpscares, strobe effects, vomit, deaths of children, and many more. For some categories it links to:

https://www.unconsentingmedia.org/

which has a similar format to Does the Dog Die but deals with a variety of sexual themes. It even elaborates on some of the checked categories just to let you know how serious or in what way the category is expressed in the movie.

I don’t like the environment of tumblr scaring people into thinking they don’t have the help or resources they need to live happy and without anxiety unless the right PSA floats across their dash. If there are any other databases anyone knows of that provide more info about media or elaborate upon MPAA ratings, please comment. Let 2018 be a year of empowerment.

Scrapped the old post as someone finally got me the source:
This is actually from the NEW Q&A Toriyama did. He covers a few things about the series, such as what exactly is needed to go Super Saiyan, how the Super Saiyan God fits into the series, and a little on Saiyan hierarchy.

The Super Saiyan bit is interesting to me. This explanation explains a few things, such as why it was easier for Vegeta to transform after having spent time on Earth (and after the whole Freeza vendetta was no longer eating at him) yet harder for him to achieve than Goku. Might be why he never managed to reach SSJ3. It also explains why Goten and Trunks managed to attain it so easily, and why the Universe 6 Saiyans are able to do so easily as well. Heck, given this description, it could even possibly be why Kale has a unique form.

The second bit is a bit of history on Super Saiyan God, how that’s the “Legendary Super Saiyan” referred to by Freeza and Saiyan legend (take THAT, Broly!) and on why the ritual was needed to first take the form. (Note: this actually flies in the face of Toyotaro having given Vegeta the form without need of said ritual, buuut
) Apparently the original who lead the rebellion against the Royal Family was a Saiyan named Yamoshi. Spin-off one-shot when?

And finally, on Saiyan hierarchy. Most of it is what we already knew, but the bit on Infiltration Babies and Engineers is interesting. It seems that Raditz, while considered a low-class warrior in terms of ranking, at least qualified to be a warrior. Goku was considered trash by Vegeta and Saiyan society in that, his power was deemed low enough that he was to be an outcast, likely either doomed to be in a support role, or sent off to become an infiltration baby, which is how Bardock got away with sending him off.

What’s interesting about that, however, is that it means the reason Raditz came to get him (and the reason he tried to force Goku to kill the people of Earth) was actually due to Goku’s tenure as an Infiltration Baby was intended to be a Trial by Combat. They’re sent to these planets to have to fight for survival and to carry out the cleansing of that world, and only then can they return to their homeworld a warrior. Raditz demanding Goku slaughter at least X amount of humans before coming with him was Raditz trying to enforce this rite of passage on his little brother.

So that’s some pretty interesting info, I think.

IS CRIME ADDICTIVE? THE DARK SIDE OF PSYCHOLOGY

dailypsychologyfacts:

We all know of people who are utterly obsessed with true crime – those family members who somehow ALWAYS win Cluedo (but you’re convinced they rigged it)
they thrive in guessing who did it when watching a classic murder mystery
.some even go so far as to host murder mystery parties (hint hint, guys). As documentaries and Netflix shows have shown, it is an incredibly popular genre. Psychiatrist Dr. Sharon Packer explained the possible reasons as to why we are so interested in the psychology of evil.

OMG. This. Changes. Everything.

Reblogging for my followers who might have trouble remembering whether or not they’ve taken their medicine!

OH MY GOD, THIS WILL HELP ME SO MUCH. I GET SO SCARED WHEN I DON’T KNOW IF I JUST TOOK MY MEDS TWICE.

THANK YOU, I’M ABOUT TO CRY.

Let me share with you guys a product that super helps me remember if I took my meds or not (because while the above is great, I still would manage to confuse myself):

They count as soon as you put the top back on. So if I don’t know if I’ve taken my medication for the day, I can check the cap to see how long ago I opened the container! It’s brilliant!

JFC THIS IS A GAME CHANGER.

I KNOW THIS IS MY ART BLOG BUT EVERYONE WHO TAKES MEDS SHOULD SEE THIS.

Don’t forget! ♄

You can also use an app like Mango Health if that’s more your style! I like it cause you can set alarms and when they go off, you have the choice of taking it, snoozing it, or skipping the dose, and if you don’t choose one of those it will automatically snooze and keep reminding you until you take it or skip it! It also shows a log of when you took what meds each day, and lists information about your logged meds (including OTC stuff and vitamins) as well as interactions.

ladies and gentlemen we have officially reached the “in case a nuclear attack happens” phase

. [x]

This shit is wild.

There should be an amber alert or something to warn us, hopefully. But if you’re so close to the blast that the entire outside flashes white your first priority is to get underneath the blastwave any way you can.

After that you have 2 options: drive away or protect yourself from the radiation.

Option one is tough because literally everybody else is going to want to do this, and you could get stuck right in the fallout. And lemme tell you, if you’re stuck out there when the ashes first fall for more than 15 minutes, you’re dead. Radiation poisoning.

Option two is harder, but has a better success rate. Get underground. Most houses have a crawlspace, but in this bad time just saw a fucking hole in your floor. Put table over hole. Pack some large containers (like tubs), with dirt, tight, and stack them on your table or wherever you’re going to be directly underneath. you need 36 inches if dirt to be protected from the radiation poisoning. You could preemptively buy lead and stick that in a container with a lot of serface area, i forget how many inches you need vertically.

How ever much serface area the dirt/metal/lead covers is how much you and your party will be able to move around. As long as there’s enough inches vertically you’ll be good so long as you stay under it.

You gotta stay under there for at least 2 weeks, 3 to be sure.

Also, if you can see the mushroom cloud, stick your arm out as far as you can. Do a thumbs-up and close one eye. If your thumb is bigger than the cloud, you are safe. If the cloud is bigger or the same size as your thumb, then that means you are in the radiation zone and should evacuate immediately.

I cannot believe I actually have to freaking reblog this but here y’all go just in case

Now here’s something cool! What you see above is fresh an salt water mixing in a cave. Fresh water is on the top giving the illusion that it’s air. You can look through my bizarre world tag. I compile all the most interesting posts there!

Imagine seeing the water ripples above you and taking off your scuba gear so you can breathe the air above you and then inhaling a bunch of water.

I should add that to my horror story tag.

Actually they’re are several drownings caused by exactly that! It is one of the reasons underwater caves are so dangerous.

This is terrifying.

I wish that ao3 had an option to filter warnings (and tbh certain authors) out like I will never ever want to read it and just seeing it puts me off so much that often I end up closing my browser because that content upsets me so much lmao

There is a way to do this but I can’t recall how to do it. it’s something you type into the box for “other filters” or something, I don’t remember. who knows??

It’s not a great option, and I don’t know if you can sort out authors that way, but it’s better than nothing if someone can reblog this with how to do it!

Alrighty friends! It takes some specificity, but you can do this. Let me show you how!

So I started with going to the Sherlock (TV) section of Ao3. On the right we find this lovely section! ((I know I’m going over things you already probably know, but I figure this post may go to new Ao3 users, so bear with me.))

Underneath this, I chose sort by Kudos, because that’s a quick way to find most popular fics, for the sake of this demonstration.

With those filters on, we end up with this being our first two results:

As you can see, we have Nature and Nurture by earlgreytea68, and The Internet Is Not Just For Porn by cyerus. So what if I am utterly sick of seeing earlgreytea68 on my list? Let’s pretend I’ve read all their fics, or that I just don’t like her, or whatever. I want this author out. I go to this section on the right:

In “Search within results” I type earlgreytea68 into the bar, with a minus sign in front. This gives me the following page, upon hitting the sort and filter button:

There goes earlgreytea68! But now I’ve decided that Crack is just not my thing, I’m sick of that, too, for heaven’s sake, I want something reasonable in my gay slash fanfiction about detectives that solve crimes about glowing dogs and irish megalomaniacs. Heaven forbid this get ridiculous.

Well, then I add this to my search:

Which gets rid of everything with that tag. My results are now:

Performance in a Leading Role is now my first result!

You can do this as many times as you want; the biggest problem I have is trying to filter out multi-worded tags. For example, “Secret Relationship” is hard to filter. Better to go with authors you dislike or with words like “DubCon”.

I hope this helps! Also remember that googling site:archiveofourown.org and then adding search terms will mean google searches Ao3 for you, and sometimes that works far better.

Good luck!

An excellent in-depth guide! Thank you!!

omg changed my whole ao3 rarepair game

An excellent guide to filtering on AO3!

You can filter out phrases by enclosing them in quotes. For example, if ABO and Hydra Trash Party are not your things, try:

-“alpha/beta/omega dynamics” -”hydra trash party”

I have more advice!

Say, you’re in your random fandom- I went with the Marvel Cinematic Universe, since I’ve been reading Iron Man stuff recently. Tony Stark is awesome.

But anyway, you’re on the page, and you see that there are 174,774 works! That is way too many for a casual afternoon’s browsing.

And you see that the first one is Peter Parker/Tony Stark and that is not your jam. It doesn’t work for you, or it squicks you, whatever. Wouldn’t life be easier if you could browse without seeing that pairing (or whatever pairing you don’t like)? You can!

First, click on that pairing tag(You may want to open this in another tab, actually.):

and it’ll take you to the page for that pairing tag. Click this button:

and then look at the address bar! The actual page is unimportant. Copy the numbers located here:

and go back to the original search page! Down on the side, in the same place you can get rid of other tags, type -relationship_ids:”the number you just copied”

Then hit ‘sort and filter’ annnd
 magic!

The fics with that pairing are gone! You can also do multiple pairings, get rid of any tags you don’t like, and sort it by date or length or kudos, or whatever.

Enjoy.

AO3rdr is a Firefox, Chrome, and Opera extension that blacklists without you having to fill in the “search within results” field every time!
