Given this new article here are my thoughts

Gotham season 4 premiere “Pax Penguina” sets off a new era for the city as Penguin lowers crimes but uses a controversial method that makes the Gordon and the GCPD look useless. Here’s a few non-spoiler teasers ahead of the episode!

The start of Gotham season 4 kicks off three months ahead of the season 3 finale. The city has had time to get over the attacks of the virus from Alice Tetch’s blood. There’s a brand new mayor, Penguin is back in charge over the gangs and criminals, and Gordon is still as broody as ever.

You guys have no idea how happy I am that Oswald is finally going to get Gordon for all the one sided, selfish, just taking, ungrateful ‘partnership’ they had. Seriously. I used to really like Jim, but the way he has always treated Oswald irked me to no end. Will forever say that Oswald was so helpful and kind, never asking for anything in return, at least in the beginning before Ozzie started to see what a douche Jim was.

So seeing that it looks like in ep.1 he will be at the top of his game like always, at least in this regard is just

If this is the case, I honestly cannot wait for Penguin to take Jim down a few pegs.

I mean honestly, idk wtf is Jim’s problem with Ozzie. He acts like Penguin is the bane amd to blame for all his hardships and troubles. Like man, get your head out of your ass. You have faced far worse villains that have made you really suffer than Penguin ever did. I really can’t recall a time Oswald truly did anything malicious to Jim so like???? Tf Jim!!

Again, which is why I am so glad that Pengy is going to start to make moves against him.

When Oswald finally started to stand up to Jim, I was so glad.

Just look at him in this top gif. No longer letting himself be intimated by this selfish dochebag. It’s why he started to make Jim owe him favors because Oswald was very selfless and risked so much to help him and for what? Nothing. No real thank you or gratitude. I mean Jim is always willing to throw Oswald away, give him up to be killed without batting an eye, letting him rot in Arkham. Just urghhhh.

I think our bird had it right when he said:

I mean, Jim himself admits that he’s a monster.

And don’t even get me started on how because of him, Fish dies in Oswald’s arms. Another loved one. Dying in his arms. Just GOD.

It’s just really Jim? Really? Time and time again we have seen Jim want to give in to his dark side and in early s3, idk, but he seems to turn into an even more selfish and carless guy. Just *angry silent screaming*

And wow. Sorry. Idk how this turned into a anti Jim post apparently. Seriously, I could go on and list everytime Jim was a selfish, inconsiderate, douche to Oswald, but back to the top.

This is why I am so glad Ozzie will finally start to get Jim back for all the grief he has put him through.

I am legitimately bummed that they’re possibly going this route… I want Oswald happy of course, and I want him to have a relationship but… with Ed. Life only gives you one true love. And to have him having never had these feeling to having them for Ed, to just someone new is… I don’t Os to get the Gordon love life treatment. Nygmobblepot was deeper and slower burning and… I just don’t see how it will be so easily replaced? And I personally don’t want it replaced. :(

SEASON THREE STORY LINE WITH ED?! I hate to inform Gotham, because lord
knows they love repeating storylines every season, but repeated
storylines begin to lose impact.

listen: nygmobblepot was and still is special, no matter how many love interests they give ed or oswald, they will never be the same as when they are together. oswald literally said ed is his one true love. ed and oswald both said about each other ‘he’s the only one’ like. these two are soulmates. they are meant to be. their relationship was being built up since the very first episode of the entire show, with so many subtle/not so subtle parallels and hints that the writers purposely put there.

you know what’s making it even worse is that we have absolutely no closure to the romance storyline and they are ALREADY giving them love interests (merely speculation but watch ed and lee become a thing), like we don’t know if oswald still loves ed, we don’t know if ed loves oswald, we don’t know what the entire 3×15 was about, we literally have no explanations to anything and they are already jumping to another romance storyline/s and giving the two/one of them a love interest. this is truly the worst direction they could have possibly taken with them. not giving any closure to their romance storyline, beyond the friends/enemies thing, and instead giving them other love interests.

and yes this season in general does look like it’s just made up of repeated storylines. from what i’ve read so far, it looks like we have oswald having it all and being the king of gotham at the beginning and then losing everything again, ed struggling with an ‘identity crisis’, sofia falcone = valerie vale 2.0, jim being ‘dark’………literally which one of these haven’t we seen already

anyway, all that being said there IS a tiny chance that they could use him (or her…which is a whole other level of n o) as a lazy plot device to get ed jealous and have nygmobblepot back together……not exactly the Quality storyline i was hoping they’d get but it’s better than nothing lmao

Jim Gordon’s love life is about as complicated as the politics of Gotham City. And although Lee (Morena Baccarin) surely won’t stay out of Gotham for long, her decision to leave town in the season 3 finale is one of many factors that will see Jim (Ben McKenzie) going down a “dark path” when the show returns. Another factor? Jim’s career.

“We’re going to see Jim make, in some ways, big steps toward I guess what you would call the commissionership,” executive producer John Stephens tells EW. “But also we’re going to see Jim, in his quest to save the city, cross different ethical lines than he ever did before. It’s going to bring him to an ethical nadir that we haven’t seen him at, and it’s going to be told through the context of a relationship that he has with Sofia Falcone, the daughter of Don Falcone, who’s played by Crystal Reed this year. And that’s going to be a really compelling and interesting relationship.”

I don’t see how Carmine would ever be on board with this.

I can only assume – as Alfred might say – that they’re going to stitch Jim up nicely.

Hopefully it ends quick. With Carmine smacking the heck out of Jim. Just….ugh.

On the one hand it’s like, show, no, don’t ruin my ship. But, on the other, it’s like 20 fic ideas of how much of a dick Jim would have had to be for Harvey not to have his back…

I’m kind of hoping that this translates to Harvey being like “Things are actually kinda stable in this city for the first time in three years, could you maybe not fuck with that just because you think Penguin is like, the avatar of why your life sucks?”

Gotham: Penguin And Riddler’s Relationship Will Be Dramatically Different In Season 4

The honeymoon period is over for Penguin and the Riddler on Gotham.

Things went south for the villainous friends when they turned on each other in Gotham’s third season. However, Nygma is free of Mr. Freeze’s ice block in season four and that’s putting Oswald Cobblepot on edge.

“We know that Ed escapes and that is an extremely terrifyingmoment for Oswald because, again, Oswald when he’s at his lowest its when he has no control,“ Robin Lord Talor tells ComicBook.com. “Nygma is the only person who could meet Oswald on his level in terms of intellect and cunning. Now that he cannot control him anymore it’s terrifying and threatening to him.”

Even though they may be rivals now, there will always be a lingering respect from their time working together that influences how they treat each other.

“I think that there will always be respect between the characters,” Cory Michael Smith says. “I think their relationship was so personal and intimate, I don’t know that there’s another character that understood Ed the way that Oswald did and I think vice versa. So I think there’s such a connection there and such a fear of the other and a respect of the other that that will constantly be there.”

However, the Riddler who returns in Gotham’s fourth season isn’t necessarily the same Riddler who worked with Penguin during season three. Fans will see how that influences their dynamic when Gotham returns on Sept. 21.

The title of this article doesn’t really match up with the content. How will it be “dramatically different”? Also, the idea that Oswald is going to be terrified when Ed escapes is so weird to me. I mean Ed was on the loose and trying to kill Oswald in 3b, but I don’t think Oswald was ever “terrified”. Anyway I’m looking forward to seeing what Ed 3.0 (4.0? 5.0? who knows, I’ve lost count of his personality shifts at this point) is like.

Yeah, it seems weird that Oswald would be ‘terrified’ of Ed. I mean c’mon we all know him, and how much of a clever survivor and badass he is.

Well, I guess we’ll see. Please Gotham writers don’t screw this up
