Sissi Delmas

aquaristicclusterfuck:

I think the older I get the more I can understand and appreciate Sissi.

Sure, in the beginning, when X.A.N.A. was awakened, she ratted them out to her father but she was trying to save them! She didn’t think she could protect them any other way. Ā I hate how they held that against her.

Odd told a girl about the factory. Ā I know it’s not the same thing, but in a way it’s worse. Ā  He showed it to her because he was falling for her, not to try to save anyone.

Did they kick him out? They considered it but then they gave him a chance to redeem himself by saving Aelita in Lyoko.

They didn’t give Sissi a chance to redeem herself. Ā Even after she helped them all out over and over again in the real world.

She proved to Aelita that she knew how to fight by knocking Jeremie out in that one episode

She helped Odd out in another episode when the whole school was after him. Ā She could have easily just turned against him to save herself but she didn’t.

She proved she can be a good nurse when she looked at Ulrich’s arm when they were trapped in the elevator.

She proved in a lot of ways that she could have been a very good Warrior.

Sure, she gave the group some heart ache in some episodes, but thats just because she wanted to be their friend and she was hurt that they refused to accept her.

I understand how that feels, I used to try so hard to be friends with people, but I felt like nobody wanted me so I put up a mean front to protect myself.

Anyway, I hope that in Evolution, Sissi gets to be friends with them for real and become a Lyoko Warrior. Ā I also hope she gets over Ulrich because he and Yumi are so obviously in love…

In the prequel, the Lyoko Warriors shun Sissy for wanting to tell the authorities about the supercomputer. In literally the second episode (Seeing is Believing), Ulrich, Yumi, and Aelita all vote to tell the authorities for the exact same reasons proposed by Sissy.

What dicks.

Your friendly reminder that Sissi was innocent from the start and that the Lyoko Warriors have only themselves to blame.

I’m so fucking mad that Sissi didn’t get to join the Lyoko Warriors all because they were mad at her for bringing her dad and Jim into the factory and exposing their secret. She was concerned for her ā€˜friends’ and was worried they got hurt when she got shocked by XANA.

We could’ve had a preppy, girly, ā€œstereotypical beach valley blonde girlā€ who was also one of the good guys and little kids could’ve looked up to her since all other stereotypes were seen as the bully or some shit

I want the entire series rebooted but this time Sissi is apart of the gang and is happy and has real friends.

And so say all of us!

It only just occurs to me the reason it takes so long for Sissi to develop in Code Lyoko is because the main characters keep giving her literal Aesop Amnesia

I mean I did realize this, but mostly only in regards to later seasons where she does actual heroic selfless things, but rewatching the first few episodes there’s already the start this kind of thing and it really drives home how much sooner she would have changed if she’d been allowed to learn from her mistakes instead of forgetting every week.

In episode 3 she sticks around school over break just to find out what Jeremy’s up to and in a life or death moment she’s allowed to be vulnerable and introspective and actually tries talking through her issues with wanting to be part of their group. Then that gets erased. (something that would’ve been unavoidable even when they stopped Returning as much because people were dying)

In the episode she steals Ulrich’s diary, she ends up fully admitting her mistake and apologizing and asks if there’s anything she can do to help in their current emergency. That gets taken away too. Ulrich gets his diary back, but she doesn’t get confronted in a way that forced her to openly acknowledge her mistake.

In both instances she isn’t allowed to reach those points of vulnerability and self-reflection because of crisis caused by Xana or confrontation with one of the mains, neither of which happen after Returns because the group fixed everything

On top of that, the group IS allowed to learn from their mistakes and at the least cool down after they’ve had their fun the first time around when they made a rash decision, but Sissi sure doesn’t get those second chances. It might make her more frustrating to the audience and the group, but they can’t act like they don’t have an advantage here.

I’m not saying the group should have gone through extra trouble just to teach her a lesson, especially because she doesn’t listen when they actually do call her out on a normal day, but it seriously sucks for her that she never gets those important personal moments back and it takes that much longer for her to get where she wants

THIS^^^^^

Barely started rewatching the show today and honestly if u ask me, Sissi seems like the most complex and interesting character so far. Like she can be an introloper sure, but underneath it all she has a good heart and is a good person.

On another note, I just want to say, I totally ship her with Ulrich
