Early color scheme and design for Jessie, James and Meowth. Ā Published in CoroCoro Comics inĀ  April 1997, Team Rocket were supposed to wear black outfits with white boots and gloves, just like the regular gen 1 Team Rocket grunt outfit – a similar look to how they appeared in the Black & White series. Meowth is depicted with beige ears, despite its official game artwork showing it to have black ears. There are a couple of other 1997 instances of beige-eared Meowth that might prove it wasn’t a mistake.Ā

Everytime I see this design, I’m glad they didn’t go for this color scheme!

SIGNAL BOOST!

ATTENTION all Pokemon fans, particularly of the Pokemon anime.Ā  An inside source on the anime staff, whom will remain unnamed at this time, has told me that there is now a very real possibility of getting the Pokemon Company and/or TV Tokyo to release theĀ ā€œTeam Rocket VS Team Plasma!ā€ two-parter, which was postponed indefinitely by the earthquake / tsunami / nuclear meltdown of Japan on March 11, 2011.Ā Ā While enough time has passed since the disaster, the anime moved on and phased the episodes out of continuity, and with no visible demand for them, the Pokemon Company and TV Tokyo have thus kept them shelved.Ā

My source says that if many fans deliver signatures and messages on Twitter to the accounts @Pokemon_cojp and @TVTOKYO_PR calling for the release of these episodes, then there very well may be a response from the companies, and the episodes would be released.

Please, use your Twitter accounts (and if you don’t have one, make one) and join in on this movement.Ā  Tweet to both the accounts listed above, either in your native language or in Japanese through usage of Google Translate, calling in support for the episodes to be released.Ā  Use the hashtags #ReleaseTheEpisodes and #RocketVSPlasmaPlease.Ā Ā

Also, spread the word among all other fans that you possibly can find.

We need to show the Pokemon Company and TV Tokyo that older fans of the Pokemon anime worldwide have not forgotten about the existence of these episodes, or TV Tokyo’s initial promise to broadcast them later.Ā  We need to show them that there is a high demand for them, and that it would serve them well to release them, particularly as the anime is set to bring the character of Sakaki / Giovanni, boss of Team Rocket, back in a substantial role.Ā

Remember: this is a real possibility, endorsed by a member of the anime’s staff. Let’s not let it, or all the hard work of said staff that worked on these episodes, go to waste.Ā

Let’s do this thing!

WOW, now that would be interesting to see! I hope there will be enough support on the Japanese side of things. Let’s spread the word and write a tweet. I don’t have my hopes high but who knows… There were so many cool things about these episodes and it would be nice to see them released at some point.

Anyone knows how this is going on the Japanese-speaking side of the fandom? I assume that’s where the info first spread? Also, seems like it’s going nice, I hope more people will jump into it.

Literally less than TEN signatures needed now!!! ;3;

Unfortunately, I guess that’s just a first goal. So keep them coming!

Ultimately, it’s the campaign on Twitter and visibility of the demand on official channels of
@Pokemon_cojp and @TVTOKYO_PR that matters
