So, as you can see, originally Yamato’s and Kosaburou’s motto did contain those positive lines of “prevent” and “protect”, with a few alterations, but for some reason 4kids chose to make Cassidy’s and Butch’s motto completely negative in the dub. Although it’s obvious they did this to make them 100% opposites of Jessie and James due to the fact the two TR teams are rivals.
This phrase used by the TRio represents their connection to larger Rocket Gang activities and their personal engagement in the matter. It appears throughout all the recent series which proves the writers DID NOT forget about this little detail. As expected, Sun and Moon is no different and I really hope the TRio will start to use that line a bit more, meaning they’re actually used in the plot here and there is consistency to it (unlike the forgotten-afterwards Rocket/Zygarde plot from XYZ).

The episode with Jigglypuff at school, soon after the end of Nebby’s arc. The translation in the subs is a bit different but it’s the same Japanese catchphrase.
